IMPULS-Festival Holds "Sonic Solutions" Symposium and Presents Baltic Music

This week, the representatives of Baltic Contemporary Music Network (BCMN) are visiting the contemporary classical IMPULS-festival in Halle, Leipzig, Dessau and Magdeburg in Germany.

IMPULS symposium "Sonic Solutions" invites international cultural workers, curators and artists to the Bauhaus Museum Dessau to jointly reflect on the role of art and culture in different contexts and to develop potential for cooperation and transformation. The BCMN, Arts Music Denmark, Festival Alliance for Contemporary Music in Europe (F.A.C.E.) and Kyiv Contemporary Music Days participate to discuss future opportunities.

The Chairman of the Lithuanian Composers' Union Mykolas Natalevičius comments: "IMPULS-festival is showing a great initiative by providing space for composers and music managers to discuss important topics for our further cooperation."

Baltic composers are represented in the festival's "Sonic Showcase" at the Bauhaus Museum in Dessau on October 21 from 6.30-7.30pm. Ensemble for New Music Tallinn (EE) will perform pieces of Justė Janulytė (LT) and Santa Bušs (LV) as part of the concert programme. The entry to the concert is free.
